HAVs Seminar
City
of Manchester
Stadium Seminar On 24th February.
AIS
held a successful seminar at the City of Manchester Stadium to help its
customers prepare for the imminent Physical Agents Directive (PAD)
starting 6th July.
With
speakers from the Health and Safety Executive, BCAS, and Atlas Copco,
the seminar looked at the implications of the new directive on their
business, and how to manage Hand Arm Vibration. Due to the success of
this event, AIS will be holding further seminars across the country.

extended role in Atlas Copco tool distribution (06/09/04)
Abbey
Industrial Solutions is pleased to announce that from 6th September
2004, they will be the official distributors for Atlas Copco tools for
the north of England.
Described
by Atlas Copco as ‘pioneers’, and
developing a ‘blueprint for the
distributor of the future’ Abbey has been rewarded this expansion for its
continuing efforts to provide customers with the complete tool
management solution.
With
growing sales, increasing market share, and repair lead times slashed
to an aggressive 5 days (3 on contract), Abbey’s Managing Director, Martin Stead is clearly pleased,
but still striving for more: “In the space of the last two years, we

Safety accreditation for Abbey’s Good Tool Management Technician

Earlier
this year, Abbey’s Good Tool
Management Technician, Darren Flavell, has successfully achieved a pass with
merit for the British Compressed Air Society’s
diploma in compressed air management. Earlier this year Darren
successfully completed the ‘hand arm
vibration risk assessment and management’ course,
recognised by the Institute
of Occupational Safety and Health.
